The Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board (ADSUBEB), in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Abuja, has officially launched the 2022/2023/2024 Agric Education Training Program (AETP) across Adamawa State.

This initiative is focused on equipping primary and junior secondary school students with practical agricultural knowledge and hands-on skills. The goal is to raise a new generation of youth who can contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s agricultural sector and rural development.

The AETP is fully in line with the development goals of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. His administration has consistently shown strong support for improving basic education in the state. According to officials, the program represents a key step in Governor Fintiri’s plan to give students real-life skills that prepare them for the future.

The training will benefit 120 schools from all 21 local government areas of Adamawa State. A total of 360 participants have been selected to take part in the agric-focused training program. These trainings will be held across four different centres for wider reach.

The training will take place at Mubi Centre on Monday, 23 June 2025; Jada and Numan Centres on Tuesday, 24 June 2025; and Yola Centre on Wednesday, 25 June 2025. The selected participants are expected to gain exposure to modern farming techniques, sustainable agriculture, and agribusiness strategies.
