June 27, 2025 – The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has raised an alarm over the operations of Value Growth Platform, an online investment platform claiming to offer market analysis, investment recommendations and trading services on behalf of investors.

In an official statement, the Commission made it clear that VALUE GROWTH PLATFORM is not registered to operate in any form within Nigeria’s capital market.

According to the SEC, “Investigations have revealed that VALUE GROWTH PLATFORM’s operations exhibit typical indicators of a fraudulent Ponzi scheme.” These signs include promises of guaranteed returns, referral-based rewards, and constant pressure on subscribers to fund accounts.

The Commission has strongly advised the public to exercise caution when dealing with VALUE GROWTH PLATFORM or its representatives, warning that anyone who engages with them does so at their own risk.

The SEC also urged Nigerians to always verify the registration status of any investment platform before putting in their money. “Potential investors are reminded of the need to VERIFY the registration status of investment platforms via the Commission’s dedicated portal,” the statement read.

The verification can be done through www.sec.gov.ng/cmos or the Commission’s fintech hub at https://home.sec.gov.ng/fintech-and-innovation-hub-finport/registered-fintech-operators.

The warning comes as part of efforts to protect Nigerians from online fraud, fake investment platforms, and Ponzi schemes that exploit unsuspecting investors.
