The Federal University of Education, Pankshin in Plateau State, Nigeria, has officially opened its recruitment portal for both academic and non-academic staff positions. This follows its recent upgrade to a full-fledged university. According to a release signed by Mr. James O. Madaki, Ag. Registrar/Secretary to Council, the institution is inviting applications from qualified candidates who meet the stated requirements.
In Category A, for academic positions, the university seeks lecturers at different levels. For Lecturer I (CONPASS: 03/2), applicants must hold a Doctorate Degree from a recognized institution or a Master’s Degree with three years of relevant teaching or research experience. In addition, candidates should have at least three journal articles or two chapters in standard textbooks.
For Lecturer II (CONPASS: 02/2), a Master’s Degree is required alongside NYSC discharge or exemption, with evidence of post-secondary teaching experience. The Assistant Lecturer (CONPASS: 01/2) position requires a Second Class Lower Degree or equivalent in a relevant field, NYSC certificate, and teaching experience.
Category B covers various non-academic positions. For example, Information Officer I (CONTEDISS: 07/2) requires a degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, or related fields, plus three years of experience or a Master’s degree. Membership in professional bodies such as the NIPR is advantageous.
Other roles include Town Planner II, Quantity Surveyor II, Catering Officer I, Procurement Officer II, Architect II, Administrative Officer II, Executive Officer, Accountant II, Confidential Secretary II, and Motor Vehicle Mechanic. Each role has specific educational qualifications, professional certifications, and years of experience required.
In Category C, the university is hiring a Medical Officer (CONMESS 02/2). Candidates must hold an MBBS/MBCH with at least two years of post-registration experience or a Master’s in a related field. Registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria is mandatory.
