The National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), in collaboration with the Edo State Government and the Lady Mechanic Initiative (LMI), is set to host a one-week specialized training program for women in Benin City. The event, focused on CNG conversion, will run from June 30th to July 4th, 2025, at 99, Ogiugo Street, off Akhihbare Road, off Ihama Road, G.R.A., Benin City, Edo State. Training starts daily at 9:00 AM.
With the theme “CNG CONVERSION: A NEW HORIZON FOR WOMEN IN THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY”, this initiative promotes clean energy solutions and technical empowerment for women in Nigeria.
According to the NADDC, “This training provides a platform for women to gain hands-on skills in CNG conversion, opening new doors for innovation and entrepreneurship in the automotive sector.”
The focus on compressed natural gas (CNG) technology comes at a critical time when alternative fuel solutions are gaining traction in Nigeria’s transport and energy sectors. Promoting female participation in this area supports both gender equality and environmental sustainability.
