Recall that PAWECA data capturing had just taken place. Now, the Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) is set to begin disbursement of the Fintiri Business Wallet funds this July, following the directive of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

This was disclosed by the agency’s Director General, Dr. Michael Zira, during a courtesy visit by the Adamawa State chapter of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) at his office in Yola.

Dr. Zira expressed appreciation for the visit and assured the union of continuous collaboration. “Our door is always open. We are committed to partnering with organisations like the TUC to make sure the people benefit from the government’s economic empowerment plans,” he said.

He noted PAWECA’s determination to carry out its core mandate of supporting women, youths, and vulnerable persons across Adamawa State. According to him, the agency’s efforts under the Fintiri-led administration have contributed to a significant drop in poverty levels, from 74% to 60%.

Earlier, the TUC Chairman in the state, Comrade Dauda Adamu Ali, applauded Dr. Zira for the positive impact of PAWECA programmes. “We are here to thank you for your commitment to improving the lives of our people. The results of your work are visible across communities,” Comrade Ali stated.

He also encouraged PAWECA to continue implementing initiatives like Technical Skills Training, which help build long-term economic capacity among residents.

He assured Dr. Zira of the union’s ongoing support, promising to stand with the agency in its mission to reduce unemployment and poverty through targeted financial support.

In other news, FG Green Money Project registration is still ongoing.
