The Lagos State Cooperative College (LASCOCO) has officially announced internal and external recruitment advertisement for various academic and non-academic positions, inviting qualified and experienced professionals to apply.
This massive move aligns with the Lagos State Government’s continued investment in education, cooperative development, and public sector transformation.
The College, which was established under the Lagos State Cooperative College Law, is currently seeking candidates who possess strong leadership qualities, technical expertise, and dedication to public service. According to the institution, “Applications are open to qualified individuals with vision, integrity, and commitment to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the College.”

General Requirements:
i. Applicants must demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills.
ii. Candidates must be ICT-proficient and demonstrate innovation and administrative competence as well as Cooperative Education experience.
iii. Applicants should have a strong understanding of Lagos State Government’s educational policy directions and cooperative sector reforms.
iv. All applicants must be persons of proven integrity and must be of employable age as prescribed under the Lagos State public service.
Provost
The College is in search of a Provost who will serve as the Chief Academic, Administrative, and Accounting Officer. The Provost is expected to manage the daily affairs of the institution while ensuring the implementation of policies established by the Governing Council.
To be considered, the candidate must hold a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D) in Social and Management Sciences, with a minimum of 15 years of post-qualification teaching or research experience. In addition, at least five years must be at the level of Chief Lecturer in a modern educational system. The individual must also have held senior academic and administrative leadership roles in a higher institution.
Further requirements include a proven record of strategic leadership, community service, innovation, and research excellence. “The ideal candidate must demonstrate vision, be a goal-getter, and possess the ability to produce and execute a strategic plan for the College,” the statement noted.
Principal Lecturer ā Cooperative Economics & Management
Candidates applying for the Principal Lecturer role must possess a Masterās degree in Social and Management Sciences or a related discipline. A Ph.D. is preferred. Applicants should have significant experience in teaching, research, and curriculum development at the tertiary level.
The College also requires a minimum of ten years of relevant teaching experience and proof of scholarly work through conference presentations and journal publications. A minimum of six conference or seminar papers and five journal articles are expected. In addition, applicants must present an NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion certificate.
Registrar
The Registrar will act as the Chief Administrative Officer, providing support to the Provost and handling the secretariat responsibilities for the Collegeās Governing Council, Academic Board, and other statutory bodies.
Requirements include a good honours degree in Humanities, Social Sciences, or Arts, with a minimum of Second Class Lower. Possession of a Masterās degree and membership in professional bodies such as the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), or the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria (IPAN) is an advantage.
Applicants must also demonstrate at least ten years of administrative experience, three of which should be within a tertiary institution. Communication and interpersonal skills are highly emphasized.
Bursar
The Bursar will serve as the Collegeās Chief Financial Officer. The appointee will oversee the preparation of financial reports, budgeting, internal controls, and financial planning.
The ideal candidate should possess a good honours degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics from a recognized university, along with full membership in a professional accounting body such as ICAN, ANAN, ACCA, or CPA.
Applicants must have at least ten years of relevant post-qualification experience and be proficient in using modern financial management software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms. “Cognate experience with the treasury and payment systems of Lagos State will be an added advantage,” the College stated.
College Librarian
As a Principal Officer, the College Librarian will manage all aspects of the library system and ensure access to educational resources across the College and its branches.
Requirements include a good honours degree in Library and Information Science. A Doctorate Degree and membership in professional library associations are considered advantages. Candidates must have twelve years of post-qualification experience and evidence of at least eight journal publications and ten conference papers or equivalent contributions to academic resources. An NYSC certificate is also required.
Information and Systems Analyst
This role requires a Bachelorās degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. The College is looking for candidates who possess certifications in system analysis, IT infrastructure, or database management such as ITIL, Oracle, or Cisco.
Hands-on experience in ICT services, enterprise system integration, and the ability to contribute to classroom teaching will be beneficial. The candidate must have a background in educational or corporate ICT environments.
Public Relations / Communication Officer
Applicants for the Public Relations/Communication Officer must hold a Bachelorās degree in Mass Communication, Media Studies, or a related discipline. A minimum of five years of experience in corporate communications within a public service or academic setting is required.
Candidates must demonstrate competence in branding, media relations, digital communications, and stakeholder engagement. Professional certification from communication bodies like the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) or the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) will be an added advantage.
