July 17, 2025 – The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has alerted the public to beware of fraudulent recruitment messages currently circulating online. These fake adverts falsely claim that the NAF has started recruitment for the 2025/2026 Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) and Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC).

On social media, currently, there are lots of fake media profiles sharing fake adverts concerning NAF recruitment. Even some ignorant websites are currently posting fake portals falsely claiming that NAF is recruiting.

In an official statement today, July 17, the Nigerian Air Force clarified that “no such recruitment exercise is currently ongoing.”

The service urged the public to completely disregard any such messages.

The NAF further emphasized that its recruitment and enlistment processes remain free, transparent, and strictly merit-based. “The Nigerian Air Force does not charge any fee at any stage of its recruitment exercise,” the statement added.

The Force also noted that it does not work with any third parties or agents for enlistment into the service.

Whenever an official recruitment exercise is scheduled, it will be “widely publicised through credible national dailies, the NAF official website, and its verified social media platforms.” Citizens are therefore encouraged to seek accurate information from these trusted sources.

In light of increasing online job scams, the NAF advised the public to exercise extreme caution when encountering unofficial adverts related to military recruitment.

For reliable updates, Nigerians are urged to only rely on information released by the NAF via its official website at www.airforce.mil.ng and social media handles.

Reaffirming its values, the Nigerian Air Force assured the public of its “commitment to integrity, transparency, and efficient service delivery to the nation while projecting air power to save lives and properties of all Nigerians.”

The recruitment is likely to take place soon, and will be announced by the Force in due time. For now, Nigerians should be careful not to fall for the antics of scammers.

In other news, CDCFIB has temporarily suspended the recruitment portal
