The African Association for Precision Agriculture (AAPA) has officially opened a call for contributions to the second edition of its 2025 newsletter, inviting experts, researchers, students, and professionals involved in precision agriculture (PA) across Africa to participate.

In a statement released by the AAPA, the organization emphasized the purpose of the newsletter as a platform that connects individuals and groups advancing sustainable agricultural development through technology and data-driven solutions.

“Our newsletter serves as a platform to share knowledge, showcase research, highlight success stories, and connect researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders who are driving innovation in PA for sustainable agricultural development in Africa,” the announcement read.

The association encourages contributors to submit research highlights, project updates, opinion pieces, or inspiring stories demonstrating the impact of precision agriculture in Africa. AAPA noted that both African and non-African professionals are welcome to contribute to the initiative.

This approach supports the increasing demand for agricultural technology, smart farming tools, and data-driven farming techniques that improve crop yields and reduce resource use.

The newsletter is part of AAPA’s broader mission to promote agricultural innovation, precision farming, and sustainable land use in Africa, which are critical areas for future food security and economic development.

As interest in smart agriculture continues to grow, opportunities like this help build capacity and foster collaboration across sectors involved in precision farming.

How to participate:

To participate, contributors are required to submit entries in either English or French to aapa@paafrica.org by August 10, 2025. Each entry must be no more than 250 words and must include a photo showing precision agriculture in action. AAPA confirmed that all selected contributors will receive a certificate of recognition.
