ABSU Uturu 2025/2026 UTME/DE Admission Screening

Abia State University, Uturu, has officially opened its online screening exercise for the 2025/2026 academic session. This applies to all candidates seeking admission into the university’s regular degree programmes.

According to the university, candidates are expected to upload their UTME scores, O’level results, and degree results, where applicable, on the official ABSU portal at www.portal.abiastateuniversity.edu.ng. These details must also be updated on the JAMB portal to complete the screening process.

The Registrar, Dr. Acho Elendu, confirmed the process and said, “This is to inform all applicants that the online screening has commenced and eligible candidates should complete their registration promptly.”

The requirements for eligibility include:
1. Candidates who chose Abia State University as their 1st Choice, 2nd Choice and those who did not choose the University at all in the UTME, but want to change to Abia State University;
2. Candidates who scored 150 and above in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME);
3. Candidates who possess the basic five o’level credit passes in accordance with the University entry requirements.
4. All Direct Entry Candidates.

To register, candidates must log into www.abiastateuniversity.edu.ng and pay a screening fee of ₦2,000. Payment can be made at any of the following banks:
i. ABSU Micro-Finance Bank, Uturu
ii. Signature Bank
iii. First Bank Plc
iv. Eco Bank Plc
v. Zenith Bank Plc
vi. Fidelity Bank Plc
vii. Union Bank Plc
viii. UBA PIC
ix. Payment via bank debit cards

Dr. Elendu added, “Candidates who do not register for the Post-UTME screening exercise will not be considered for admission.”
