The Governor of Sokoto State, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Aliyu FCNA, has approved the automatic employment of 1,600 unemployed nurses and midwives in the state. The decision takes effect immediately and is aimed at strengthening the manpower in hospitals.
“This is a giant stride in improving health care delivery,” a statement from the state government noted.
The recruitment is part of broader reforms to enhance health care services in Sokoto State. Governor Aliyu recently approved the renovation of 244 primary health care centres across the state.
According to the state government, these measures form part of a holistic transformation plan to ensure greater efficiency and more effective outcomes in service delivery. The initiative is expected to boost access to quality medical care for communities across Sokoto State.
