August 5, 2025 – Ritman University in Ikot Ekpene has announced a recruitment drive for qualified teachers to join its team of Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) tutors.
The institution, which is an affiliate of JUPEB, has been presenting candidates for the Board’s examinations for several years. According to the university, the aim is to “continue to present to the Board well-groomed candidates who would, with their success at JUPEB examinations, be easily offered Direct Entry admission at 200 level in their chosen fields of study in any Nigerian university.”
The university is calling for applications from suitably qualified candidates for immediate employment as JUPEB Assistant Lecturers in the following subjects:
a. Physics
b. Chemistry
c. Mathematics
d. Biology
e. Literature
f. Economics
g. Christian Religious Studies
h. Business Studies
i. Government
The duties of a JUPEB tutor include:
i. Teaches JUPEB students in a student-teacher classroom teaching approach.
ii. Conducts CA tests and quizzes.
iii. Undergoes mentoring and coaching on teaching and research.
iv. Ensures strict compliance to programme syllabuses.
v. Takes daily class attendance.
vi. Assists in tutorials and practicals.
vii. Assists in the provision of community service.
viii. Performs other duties as may be required by the University Authorities from time to time.
On the required qualifications, the university stated that applicants should meet the following criteria:
1. Candidates should be holders of a good first or second class (Upper Division) degree and a master’s degree in related disciplines.
2. B.Ed. and M.Ed. candidates (preferable) should be registered with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRC).
3. Minimum of two years post-graduation experience in educational institutions.
