Kogi State Denies Owing WAEC, Results to Be Released Within Hours

The Kogi State Government has addressed reports claiming it owed the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) registration fees, which allegedly led to the withholding of students’ results. Speaking on the matter, the State Commissioner for Education confirmed that an immediate meeting was held with WAEC officials, and the issue was resolved.

“The State Government is not owing WAEC a dime,” the Commissioner stated, assuring that students would be able to access their results within hours.

In a statement, the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, said, “The State Government remains committed to prioritizing education. We thank the students and parents for their understanding.”
