Fire Service to Enroll Staff in NSITF Employee Compensation Scheme

The Federal Fire Service has announced plans to enroll all its personnel in the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) Employee Compensation Scheme. The Controller General, Engr. Jaji O. Abdulganiyu, MIFireE, MNSE, gave the assurance on 6 August 2025 during a courtesy visit by NSITF delegates to the Service Headquarters.

The visit aimed to sensitize officers on the benefits of the scheme.

The delegation was led by Mr. Sample Ogbonna, Deputy General Manager and FCT Branch Manager, who explained that the NSITF scheme offers social security coverage for employees during service.

He noted that the scheme also supports workers who sustain work-related injuries or accidents that may lead to incapacitation, with benefits lasting up to the age of 60.

Dr. Ralpheal Odunaya, PSG Group Manager, delivered a detailed presentation on the objectives of the Fund, stressing its dedication to improving employee welfare. Engr. Abdulganiyu commended NSITF for the enlightenment session, stating, “The welfare and safety of our workforce remain a priority, and we will ensure sustainable social security measures for all personnel.”

The event also featured an interactive session where officers were guided through the enrollment process and the procedures for making claims under the scheme.
