The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has assured Nigerian workers that the delay in the payment of the wages award arrears will soon be resolved.
Bawa Mokwa, the Director of Press and Public Relations at the OAGF, explained that the delay was due to technical issues with the payment portal and paperwork following cash backing.
“I apologize for the wages award arrears delay, it is as a result of technical glitches of the payment portal and paper work after cash backing. The glitches would soon be resolved and payment will continue on Monday. Sorry for the inconvenience. I am doing my best for Nigerian workers,” Mokwa stated.
As the spokesperson for the OAGF, Mokwa regularly issues statements on behalf of the Accountant General of the Federation, Shamsedeen Ogunjimi. He has addressed matters such as the security of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS), confirming that the system remains secure and that no sensitive data is stored on the OAGF website.
Mokwa has also communicated updates on key OAGF activities, including Ogunjimi’s election as Deputy Chairperson of the African Association of Accountants General, meetings with former Accountants General, and the implementation of revised financial policies.
The OAGF maintains that resolving the current payment delay remains a top priority to ensure the timely disbursement of workers’ entitlements.
