August 12, 2025 – The Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) application portal, which was previously closed for training center applications, has been reopened. Reports indicate that the registration portal is now active and accepting applications from interested centers. However, there is still no official confirmation from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) on the validity of the applications.
We can confirm that the portal is active and receiving applications, but we are not sure if the applications are valid.
Applications for TVET training centers are currently ongoing, and businesses that are registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) can apply to become accredited training centers. According to available information, the process is open to Vocational Enterprise Institutions (VEI), Skill Training Centres (STC), and Mastercraft Persons (MCP) who meet the specific requirements.
For those applying as a Vocational Enterprise Institution (VEI) with the NBTE, the requirements include:
i. Proof of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)
ii. Adoption of NSQ-Based Curricula
iii. A minimum of one Qualified Instructor per trade, maintaining a ratio of 1 instructor to 40 students
iv. At least one Quality Assurance Assessor (QAA) per trade and one certified Internal Quality Assurance Manager (IQAM) assigned to the training center (If unavailable, centres are to engage part-time QAA & IQAM)
v. Availability of essential physical infrastructure, including workshops/studios/field facilities, offices, classrooms, and restrooms
vi. Documented training experience, including past training programs, levels of training offered, and certifications awarded
For Skill Training Centre (STC) registration and accreditation, the requirements include:
i. Proof of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)
ii. Adoption of NSQ-Based Curricula
iii. Minimum of one Qualified/Experienced Senior Artisan/Craftsperson or Qualified Instructor per program with at least NSQ Level 3 certification
iv. At least one Quality Assurance Assessor (QAA) per trade and one certified Internal Quality Assurance Manager (IQAM) assigned to the training center (If unavailable, centres are to engage part-time QAA & IQAM)
v. Adequate technical and support staff for each workshop
vi. Provision of Essential Physical Facilities: including workshops/studios/field training areas, offices, and restrooms
vii. Demonstrated training experience covering previous training programs, levels of training provided, and certifications awarded
For Mastercraft Person (MCP) registration and accreditation with the NBTE, the requirements include:
i. CAC Registration or National Identification Number
ii. Adoption of NSQ-Based Curricula
iii. Minimum of one Qualified/Experienced Senior Artisan/Craftsperson per program with at least NSQ Level 3 certification (maintaining a ratio of one qualified junior artisan/craftsperson per five trainees)
iv. Provision of Essential Physical Facilities including workshops and restrooms
v. Demonstrated Training Experience covering previous training programs, levels of training provided, and certifications awarded
The NBTE has also provided a direct application link for interested parties. The steps are as follows:

b. Fill out the form and select your trade (each applicant can select more than one trade)
c. Click Submit
After submitting successfully, applicants will be redirected to the application page. They are advised to copy their User ID, which will be used alongside the created password to log in to the portal. The NBTE instructs applicants to complete all required information and submit it for review.
