August 13, 2025 – The Nigerian Government is getting ready to recruit youths for the upcoming National Population Census, which will be conducted across the country in the coming months.

The National Population Commission (NPC) has confirmed that preparations are ongoing to ensure a successful exercise, which is expected to create thousands of temporary job opportunities for young Nigerians.

The recruitment will be announced as positions for ‘ad-hoc staff’ across various grade levels.

This update was shared Today, August 13, 2025, by the NPC Commissioner representing Kaduna State, Hajiya Sa’adatu Dogon Bauchi Garba, widely known as Saa Dogon Bauchi, through a post on her official Facebook page.

She wrote, “Census coming soon! Insha Allah… Matasa kowa ya fito da CV gaife guda insha’Allah,” which translates to “Census coming soon! Insha Allah… All youths should bring their CVs, Insha Allah.”

The call is seen as an invitation for Nigerian youths to begin preparing their job application documents early to take advantage of the temporary employment opportunities that will be available during the census.

These jobs will allow participants to earn income, gain valuable work experience, and contribute to an important national project.

Saa Dogon Bauchi stressed that the upcoming census is more than just a headcount. She described it as a vital national exercise for gathering accurate demographic data that will guide government policies in areas such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure development.

The NPC has indicated that it will use modern technology and digital tools during the process to ensure accurate, transparent, and reliable data collection.

For many young people, the announcement offers a timely opportunity to secure short-term employment in a government-backed project.

As preparations intensify, youths across Nigeria are being encouraged to get their CVs ready and stay informed about the recruitment process.

It is expected that some people will attempt to use this information to maliciously mislead unsuspecting candidates. As such, interested applicants are urged to only rely on announcements from official channels in the coming days, particularly the NPC.
