The MTN ICT Business Skills Training Program has opened applications for its 2025 Cohort 6, aiming to train and empower 3,000 young entrepreneurs across Nigeria. The initiative is part of MTN’s Youth Development project to equip individuals aged 18 to 35 with technology-enabled skills that will keep their small businesses relevant and competitive in today’s market.
According to MTN, the training will run for five weeks through an online programme featuring Masterclasses from top industry experts. Participants will also receive free data throughout the programme to ensure a smooth learning experience.
The company further revealed that the top 300 participants will benefit from an Equipment Grant valued at ₦90,000,000.
“This programme is designed to help young business owners adapt to the rapidly changing business environment by giving them access to digital tools and expert guidance,” MTN stated.
Since its launch in 2018, the ICT and Business Skills Training has been implemented in partnership with leading global and local organisations including Oracle, KPMG, IBM, Digital Bridge Institute, CISCO, Google, Meta, and Microsoft. Over the past five phases, the programme has trained 4,036 young people in 16 states: Abia, Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Borno, Cross River, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kogi, Lagos, Nasarawa, Oyo, and Rivers.
For the 6th phase, MTN will work closely with Microsoft and Meta to deliver impactful training sessions. Microsoft will cover topics such as Entrepreneurship in the Digital Age, ICT for Business Success, and the use of Generative AI for innovation.
