August 19, 2025 – Zamfara State residents are currently facing confusion over a manual application form linked to the Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalization Program (YEIDEP).
The form, which is said to be in collaboration with the Zamfara State Government through the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, is circulating after thousands of Nigerians had already submitted their applications online and the official portal was closed in May 31, 2025.
The physical form requests applicants to attach two copies of passport photographs, a National ID Card (NIN) printout, a BVN printout, and to open a bank account specifically with Zenith Bank.
This requirement has raised questions about whether the form is a genuine extension of the programme or a leak not meant for public use.
Residents are asking if this form is targeted at a specific group of people in Zamfara while other online applications risk being ignored. If this is an exclusive form, then it raises questions of fairness, especially since everyone was told to apply online.
Some suggest that politicians might have begun distributing manual forms similar to those used during the NG-CARES programme, which were heavily shared in rural communities.
However, the official position remains that online applications are the only valid entries being reviewed across the 36 states and the FCT.
There is no doubt that online applications are valid. They are the ones under review right now. So, even after filling this form, the information will still be uploaded online.
This raises further doubts about whether the Zamfara form carries official weight or is just a local initiative to reach people without internet access.
The form also carries a clear statement: “This Form is not FOR SALE,” and applicants are being advised not to panic.
As long as no payment is requested, residents can fill it out. The Zamfara State Government may simply be trying to extend YEIDEP registration to the masses who missed the online process.
