August 19, 2025 – The Federal Ministry of Education has announced the LUMINAH 2030-UBEC Migration and Establishment Agenda, scheduled to take place from August 18th to 26th, 2025, at the Digital Resource Center (DRC).
The programme is set to focus on education, skills development, and leadership training for underserved girls and women across Nigeria.
According to officials, LUMINAH 2030 is designed to transform the lives of over one million girls and women by 2030.
The ministry explained that the agenda will drive sustainable education access, vocational empowerment, and digital literacy. “This initiative represents a bold step in bridging gaps in education and technology, particularly for women in underserved communities,” a statement noted.
Key Objectives:
i. Empower Girls and Women: Provide education and economic empowerment to girls and women, particularly those in underserved communities.
ii. Improve Education: Enhance access to quality education, focusing on STEM education, technical, and vocational training.
iii. Digital Literacy: Promote digital skills and literacy among girls and women, bridging the gender gap in technology.
Expected Outcomes:
i. Increased Access to Education: More girls and women will have access to quality education and economic opportunities.
ii. Improved Digital Literacy: Participants will acquire digital skills, enhancing their employability and socio-economic status.
iii. Partnerships and Collaborations: Stakeholders will forge partnerships to support the initiative’s goals and objectives.
Stakeholders believe the programme will help shape a new future for education in Nigeria while advancing economic empowerment and digital inclusion.
