August 21, 2025 – NIPOST has launched the Agro-Logistics Initiative known as the National Agency for Innovation Literacy and Inclusion (NAILI), a move aimed at securing Nigeria’s food future.
With more than 40 percent of farm produce lost every year due to weak infrastructure and poor logistics, NIPOST is using its nationwide network to deliver a bold solution that directly supports farmers and strengthens the agricultural value chain.
The Agro-Logistics Initiative is committed to:
1. Reducing post-harvest losses
2. Strengthening National food security
3. Create jobs & empower rural communities
4. Building sustainable partnerships with government, farmers, and private sector stakeholders
The official launch of NAILI was performed by the Honourable Minister of the Federal Ministry of Communications Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani.
He was joined by the Postmaster and CEO of NIPOST, Tola Odeyemi, at the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA). The event had key partners and stakeholders in attendance, underscoring the government’s determination to harness NIPOST’s infrastructure for national development and sustainable agriculture.
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Tijani said, “This is more than logistics, it’s a commitment to ensure that what Nigerian farmers grow nourishes our people.”
He stressed that NAILI reflects innovation and long-term solutions to food insecurity. According to him, the initiative will also create opportunities for agribusiness and rural development.
Postmaster and CEO Tola Odeyemi noted that NIPOST’s wide network makes it possible to reduce food losses while creating jobs across communities. He emphasized that the initiative would boost agricultural transformation and improve food supply chains nationwide.
Stakeholders agreed that food security is everyone’s responsibility. With collaboration, technology, and NIPOST’s infrastructure, the vision is to build a future where no harvest is wasted and no family goes hungry.
