The Federal Government has approved a total of N1.5 billion to support ginger farmers across the country, reports thegazellenews.com. This announcement was made by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Chief Sunday Dare, during an interview on Channels Television programme, Sunrise Daily.

Chief Dare explained that about 500,000 young farmers are set to benefit from this agricultural fund. According to him, the initiative will help improve production and create more opportunities for youth in agribusiness.

This support for ginger farming is expected to boost food security, promote agribusiness financing, and contribute to the growth of Nigeria’s agricultural sector.

Speaking further on government policies, Chief Dare highlighted how the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration has reduced the cost of kidney dialysis from N50,000 to N12,000, describing it as a 75 percent reduction. He noted that this step will provide affordable healthcare access for many Nigerians who struggle with high medical expenses.

He also revealed that the government has introduced free Caesarean Section services for pregnant women as part of social safety nets. “The concept of social safety net is trying to subsidize some of the basic things Nigerians deal with daily,” he stated.

“We all agreed that these need to be scaled up absolutely and it’s obvious that the President is committed to doing that,” Chief Dare added.
