Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has announced the commencement of the admission process for the state’s three new special schools located in Radda, Jikamshi, and Dumurkul. He said the initiative reflects his administration’s commitment to providing quality education for all children, especially those from poor backgrounds.

According to the Governor, a total of 996 students will be admitted this year out of 2,172 candidates nominated from the 361 wards across the state. He explained that admissions will be strictly merit-based, with special priority given to gifted children from poor families.

“All admitted students will enjoy fully sponsored education, which includes uniforms, computers, internet access, accommodation, 24-hour electricity, and qualified teachers,” Governor Radda stated. He confirmed that the school in Radda will open this month, while those in Jikamshi and Dumurkul will be completed before the end of the year.

Governor Radda recalled that he had earlier fulfilled his campaign promise of sponsoring Katsina students abroad to study Medicine, Artificial Intelligence, and Biotechnology. He said these new schools are another step to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor by ensuring equal opportunities for all children.

He also disclosed that examinations will be conducted in designated centres across the state. Local leaders have been tasked with ensuring transparency and fairness in the process.

The Governor concluded by urging officials to serve with honesty and not betray the trust of the poor.
