The first batch of 250 youths drawn from the 11 Local Government Areas of Gombe State has begun training under the Prof Isa Pantami Foundation on mobile phone repair, lectures and mentorship on artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
According to the organisers, the initiative aims to equip young people with digital skills and practical knowledge needed in today’s technology-driven economy. The youths were divided into two groups, with some attending the morning session while others attend the afternoon session to ensure smooth learning.
“Over 35,000 youths applied for the programme, making it necessary to select representatives from each of the 11 Local Government Areas of the state,” a coordinator explained.
At this stage, 250 youths are undergoing training as Batch 1. After completion of Batch 1, more batches will be selected from the pool of 35,000 applicants.
