The Abia Leadership Academy will launch its first cohort on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Government College, Umuahia. According to the organisers, 250 young Abians aged 16 to 20 will begin a 7-day in-residence programme aimed at developing leadership skills for a rapidly changing world.
Recall that Abia Leadership Academy initiative had commenced registration.
Governor Alex C. Otti, OFR, who initiated the programme, said it is designed to equip 1,000 participants this year with “the mindset, skills, and vision to lead in a rapidly changing world.”
The Academy promises to deliver a transformative learning experience, combining practical training with mentorship to prepare participants for leadership roles in their communities and beyond.
The organisers confirmed that the Class of 2025 still has limited slots available. “If you were born between 2005 and 2009 (16-20 years old), this is your chance to be part of a lifetime leadership impact,” a statement read.
