Adamawa opens bids for digital academy renovation

Adamawa State Government has held a public bid opening for the renovation of the State Digital Academy located along Fufore Road in Yola South Local Government Area. The event took place at the State Secretariat Complex in Yola and marked an important step in the state’s plan to upgrade its digital education infrastructure.

Declaring the bid open, the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Awwal Tukur, announced that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved the renovation and upgrade of the Adamawa Digital Academy. According to him, the project is designed to equip the facility with modern infrastructure and digital tools that will benefit citizens across the state.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Political Office of the SSG, Mallam Ibrahim Buba, Barrister Tukur explained that the renovation will include the installation of solar renewable energy systems and campus-wide internet connectivity. He disclosed that nine firms submitted bids for the project and assured all participants that the process would be fair and transparent. He further urged the contractors to adhere to the project’s terms and deliver quality work that would stand the test of time.

Speaking on behalf of the Bureau for Public Procurement, Malam Isa Musa said the bid opening was a critical step in the state’s procurement process. He stressed the importance of transparency and accountability, assuring that the Bureau would ensure the process remains free from undue interference.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to Governor Fintiri on ICT and E-Governance, Dr. Hammajam Ahmed Adamu, said the renovation would greatly boost digital literacy among youths in Adamawa State. He stated that the upgraded facility would help young people adapt to hybrid learning systems and prepare them for opportunities in the digital economy.

The nine companies that submitted bids were grouped into three lots. Lot 1 includes Lainde Global Ventures, Arefaman Investment Limited, and Hamziyat Standard Services Limited. Lot 2 has Oval Global Engineering Services Limited, Blue Camel Energy Limited, and IESL Global Nigeria Limited, while Lot 3 features Albashir Nigeria Limited, Trust Data Compliance Limited, and Fast Track Nigeria Limited.

Speaking on behalf of the contractors, Usman Aliyu of Trust Data Compliance Limited commended the Adamawa State Government for ensuring transparency in the process and encouraged fellow bidders to accept the final selection in good faith.
