The Director General of the Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA), Dr. Michael Zira, has called on managers of the ten Technical School Acquisition Centres in Adamawa to show full commitment in running the centres with seriousness.

Dr. Zira made this known during a meeting with the centre managers as preparations continue for the issuance of admission letters to successful students, which is scheduled to begin on Monday next week.

He explained that class sessions are expected to commence immediately after the admission letters are presented to the admitted students. According to him, “Centre Managers must strictly adhere to the list of successful students when issuing admissions. Any sharp practices in this regard will not be tolerated.”

The PAWECA Director General further revealed that a reward system will soon be introduced to encourage performance. He said the plan is to recognise both staff and students who show excellence in teaching delivery and classroom performance.

Dr. Zira also disclosed that the agency is making efforts to upgrade some of the centres that need improvement to ensure optimal service delivery. He maintained that the initiative will help boost skill acquisition, economic growth, and employment opportunities for young people in Adamawa.
