Afreximbank has announced that applications are now open for its 2025 Internship Programme, offering young professionals and students an opportunity to gain valuable experience in the banking and finance sector. The African Export-Import Bank stated that entry into the programme is strictly based on merit, targeting highly qualified candidates who meet its requirements.
The internship will run for a period of up to six months. Successful applicants will receive a monthly tax-free stipend of USD 1,000, along with a housing allowance of USD 500 for those relocating from their home countries.
According to Afreximbank, the programme is open to students and postgraduates from its member states, individuals of African descent living in the diaspora, as well as non-African students whose work aligns with the bank’s mission. The bank emphasized that candidates must provide proof of enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate study programme at a recognized institution.
“Afreximbank is particularly interested in applicants whose studies focus on economics, business administration, finance, accounting, social sciences, statistics, law, sciences, engineering or related fields,” the statement read.
Fluency in English or French is required, with a working knowledge of the other language. Knowledge of Arabic or Portuguese is considered an added advantage. Applicants must also be between the ages of 20 and 32 during the year they apply. Children of Afreximbank staff are not eligible to participate.
