Akwa Ibom begins free enumeration of oil palm farmers across LGAs

The Government of Akwa Ibom State, through its Agriculture and Food Security Committee, has announced the commencement of the Enumeration of Oil Palm Farmers across all Local Government Areas. The exercise officially began today, Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 10:00AM in selected communities across the state.

According to the announcement, the enumeration is totally free, and only certified and designated personnel with state identity cards are authorized to conduct the exercise. “Enumeration is totally free,” the statement emphasized. It added that “only certified and designated personnel with state identity cards are authorised to conduct the exercise.”

The initiative is part of the state’s Tree Crop Revolution project aimed at boosting agriculture and promoting food security. The official flag-off will take place soon at the AKADEP Secretariat.

Governor Pastor Umo Eno urged farmers to participate, stating, “From enumeration to cultivation, let’s grow prosperity together, one palm at a time.”
