The Africa Macroeconomic Analysts Program (AMAP) has officially opened its application form for interested candidates. According to the organizers, “AMAP is a capacity-building initiative designed to equip emerging African students with advanced skills in macroeconomics analysis, data-driven policy insight, and economic intelligence.”
This program is focused on developing young minds across Africa by encouraging them to think critically about both global and local economic issues and how these affect governments and societies. It targets students who are passionate about economics, political science, international relations, and other social sciences.
Eligibility:
To be considered for the program, the requirements are clear.
1. Must be an African student from Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Rwanda, South Africa, or Zambia
2. Be a final-year undergraduate or recent graduate in Economics, Political Science, International Relations, or related social sciences
3. Graduated (or on track to graduate) with a First-Class or Second-Class Upper (2:1) — a 2:2 may be considered too
Applicants must also submit the following:
i. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
ii. Unofficial or Official Transcript
iii. Written Essays – Essays must be original and written by you. AI-generated content (e.g., from ChatGPT or other tools) is strictly prohibited and may lead to immediate disqualification from the selection process
