The Federal Government of Nigeria officially launched the registration portal for the National Youth Conference, also known as the Youth Confab. The initiative is described as youth-led, inclusive, non-partisan, and transformational, aiming to give young Nigerians a direct voice in shaping the future of the country.
Speaking at the unveiling, the Honourable Minister emphasized that the conference is built around the active participation of Nigerian youth. “This is more than just a conference. It is a generational turning point, a national movement and a call to action. It is a platform for us to listen, learn and lead together,” he stated.
The platform is open to young Nigerians from all 774 local government areas, as well as those in the diaspora. A total of 36,000 participants are expected to register, with representation drawn from the 360 federal constituencies.
According to the Minister of State, Youth Development, Ayodele Olusanya, “The youth confab is a platform established by the Nigerian government as a structured avenue for young people to contribute to national discussions and policy formulation in a way that ensures their ideas translate into action.”
The conference is targeting Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 35, with 10% of participants allowed to be between 35 and 40 years old. Eligible individuals include students, entrepreneurs, creatives, young professionals, community leaders, and diaspora youth.
Interested Nigerians can now register as delegates to attend the conference sessions or as observers representing organizations. In addition, participants are encouraged to submit their policy proposals for national consideration.
