The Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy (FMCIDE) has announced the 2025 edition of the Build-A-Thon Holiday Camp, set to begin on Monday, August 11, 2025.
The program invites children between the ages of 10 and 18 from across Nigeria to participate in a unique learning experience focused on technology and innovation.
According to the Ministry, “Build-A-Thon is an initiative that introduces our children to foundational technology skills, from coding to the Internet of Things (IoT).”
This camp offers young Nigerians the opportunity to learn through hands-on sessions using DIY kits and technology labs. These activities aim to build digital skills and foster creativity and collaboration.
Last year’s debut edition saw more than 5,000 children trained in locations including Abeokuta, Maiduguri, and Owerri. This year, the program will hold in Abeokuta, Abuja FCT, and Kano, with the Ministry indicating that more cities will be added.
The initiative supports the government’s goal of preparing the next generation for careers in software development, robotics, and data science. “It’s a space for kids to connect, collaborate, and be inspired together,” the Ministry added.
The camp continues to promote digital empowerment, innovation education, and youth development across Nigeria.
The Camp will begin on Monday, August 11, 2025.
