The Jim Ovia Foundation has announced that the application for the 2025 Jim Ovia Scholarship is now open. According to the Foundation, there are no restrictions on the course or program of study, but applicants are advised to make only one submission. It also stated clearly that there is no payment required to submit an application.
The eligibility requirements released by the Foundation state that an applicant must have completed Senior Secondary School, gained admission into a Nigerian university, and must present proof of admission. Candidates are expected to have a minimum of five credits in their O’level and will need to submit a certificate as proof. The age requirement states that applicants must not be less than 16 years old.
The Foundation listed documents that applicants must prepare, including a government I.D, official birth certificate, passport photograph, JAMB certificate or result, university admission letter, acceptance letter, UTME result copy, current academic calendar, and stamped academic results from 100 level till date. It also noted that medical students must convert their grades to a CGPA. An original copy of the HOD’s recommendation letter, not older than four months, is required. This letter must show the student’s current academic level, session, semester, and CGPA. Other documents include a school I.D card and original secondary school O’Level certificate.
The 2025 application window opens on November 26 and closes on November 28.
Applicants are to use an email address containing their first and last names. The Foundation said that submitting an application does not guarantee an award, adding that shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
