The Federal Government has opened application portal for the 2026 Skill-Up Artisans Programme (SUPA), an initiative of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) aimed at empowering young Nigerians with practical vocational skills.

The programme is designed to equip youths, artisans, and aspiring entrepreneurs with industry-relevant technical training that can lead to employment or business opportunities. Through structured training and certification, SUPA seeks to strengthen Nigeria’s workforce by improving practical skills and supporting self-reliance among participants.

SUPA focuses on upgrading the abilities of existing artisans while also providing training opportunities for individuals who wish to learn new vocational trades. Participants will undergo hands-on training in selected fields and gain knowledge that can help them secure jobs or establish their own businesses.

Those selected for the programme will enjoy several benefits. Participants will receive free vocational and technical training delivered by approved training centres. After successful completion, trainees will obtain nationally recognised certification that validates their newly acquired skills.

Participants who maintain good attendance will receive a monthly stipend of about ₦35,000. The stipend is typically provided to trainees who attend at least 90 percent of the training sessions. Beneficiaries may also gain access to job placement opportunities, entrepreneurship support, and exposure to business development initiatives. In some specialised trades, participants may also have the opportunity to sit for international certification examinations.

The programme covers a wide range of practical trades and technical areas. These include building and construction, fashion design and textiles, automotive technology, agriculture and agro-allied services, hospitality and catering, as well as ICT-related fields such as software development, data science, and cybersecurity.

To be eligible, applicants must be Nigerian youths or artisans. The programme is open to both experienced artisans who want to upgrade their skills and individuals who intend to learn a new trade. Applicants must also be willing to undergo training at an approved centre and participate actively throughout the training period.

Interested applicants can apply through the official portal https://supa.itf.gov.ng.
