Applications are now open for the AfCFTA Digital Inclusion & Entrepreneurship Programme (ADIEP), a free virtual training initiative in partnership with Google Hustle Academy, designed to equip 7,500 SMEs in Nigeria and across Africa with practical digital and business skills for growth.
The programme targets small and medium-sized enterprises that have been operating for at least six months within selected AfCFTA member states. It focuses on helping entrepreneurs build the capacity needed to compete in today’s fast-changing digital economy while unlocking opportunities within Africa’s single market.
Delivered in a 1-day virtual bootcamp format, ADIEP is structured to provide practical, action-driven learning rather than theory. Participants will gain direct exposure to tools and strategies that can immediately improve how they run and scale their businesses. The training is designed to support SMEs looking to expand beyond local markets and take advantage of cross-border trade opportunities under the AfCFTA framework.
Through this initiative, entrepreneurs will learn how to leverage e-commerce platforms, adopt digital payment systems, and navigate seamless cross-border processes to reach new customers across Africa. The programme also introduces participants to emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and cloud tools, helping them improve productivity, decision-making, and overall business efficiency.
A key part of the training focuses on three core modules: Cross-Border Digital Trade, Cloud for Small Businesses, and AI for Productivity. These modules are tailored to provide hands-on knowledge that entrepreneurs can apply directly to real business challenges. Participants will also have the opportunity to connect with other business owners across the continent, opening doors to collaboration, partnerships, and market expansion.
The initiative is part of a broader effort by the AfCFTA Secretariat to close the digital skills gap among African SMEs and create a more inclusive, digitally ready business environment. By partnering with Google Hustle Academy, the programme ensures that participants receive relevant and up-to-date training aligned with global digital trends.
The training will be delivered virtually to entrepreneurs in countries including Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Egypt, Rwanda, and others, with sessions available in Arabic, English, French, and Portuguese to ensure wide accessibility.
