The Benue State Government has announced the opening of applications for a major youth digital empowerment programme implemented by the Benue Digital Infrastructure Company. According to the government, the initiative aims to train 23,000 young people across the state, with “1,000 trained in each of the 23 LGAs” between January 2026 and June 2026. Governor Rev. Fr. The programme covers high-demand skills such as software development, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data analysis and product design. Officials explained that participants will gain access to jobs, remote work opportunities, global tech careers, freelancing and digital entrepreneurship. They added that digital tools and resources will be provided to help youths execute projects, launch startups and innovate.
The government noted that the initiative promotes inclusive digital empowerment and supports a stronger digital economy with improved e-governance and ICT infrastructure.
