The Enugu State Government is inviting young Nigerians to apply for a four-month Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme designed to build practical construction skills and improve employment opportunities.
The programme, known as the Enugu SME TVET Training Program, focuses on equipping participants with hands-on knowledge in key construction trades that are currently in high demand across Nigeria.
The training is organised in collaboration with COPEN Academy, the Enugu Jobs Centre, the Enugu MSME and Startup Agency, and the Office of Digital Economy in Enugu State.
Through this initiative, participants will receive structured training in five major construction areas. These include plumbing, painting, electrical installation, masonry, and tiling.
The programme will run for four months and will combine classroom learning with practical field experience. This approach is designed to ensure that participants not only understand the theoretical aspects of the trades but also gain real-world experience performing the work.
Participants will learn directly from experienced professionals who will provide practical demonstrations and industry-relevant guidance throughout the training period.
At the end of the programme, successful participants will receive a recognised certificate confirming their completion of the skills training.
The certificate is expected to help participants improve their employability and open opportunities in the construction sector, where skilled artisans are increasingly needed.
Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old to qualify for the programme. They must also reside in Enugu State and possess valid identification such as a national identity card or another acceptable form of identification.
Interested applicants are expected to demonstrate genuine interest and commitment to the skills acquisition programme. Basic literacy and good communication skills will also be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Female applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
Selected participants will attend the training three times each week during the four-month programme.
