The Nigerian Women in Enterprise – Expanding Market Access (NiWE-MA) programme has opened applications for women entrepreneurs seeking practical support to strengthen their businesses and improve access to markets and financial opportunities.

The programme is being implemented by the Enterprise Development Centre (EDC), the entrepreneurship centre of Pan-Atlantic University, with support from the Mastercard Foundation. EDC’s official programme information describes NiWE-MA as a five-year initiative targeting 750,000 female-led micro and small enterprises across Nigeria.

The current call offers selected participants access to practical business training, business advisory support, market access opportunities, financial-readiness support and networking opportunities.

The programme is designed for women already operating nano or micro businesses and focuses on helping participants improve their business capabilities, prepare for financial opportunities and reach new markets.

The current call covers eight states: Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Cross River, Delta, Enugu, Lagos, Kaduna and Kano. Participation is free, while terms and conditions apply.

The initiative forms part of EDC’s broader work to build entrepreneurial and managerial capacity among Nigerian entrepreneurs, with a particular focus on women and micro and small enterprises. Participants will receive support to strengthen operations and pursue sustainable business growth.

Who can apply

Women aged 18 to 35 who are currently running a nano or micro business and are based in Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Cross River, Delta, Enugu, Lagos, Kaduna or Kano can apply.
