Global Rights Nigeria has announced a massive recruitment drive for Police Duty Solicitors to provide legal support to survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).
The foremost human rights and governance capacity-building non-governmental organization said the positions will run from August 2025 to March 2026.
According to Global Rights, the Police Duty Solicitors will “provide pro bono, timely, and rights-based legal assistance to survivors of SGBV at designated police stations.”
The organization explained that the role involves legal representation, advocacy, and collaboration with justice sector actors to ensure survivors gain access to legal and psychosocial support services.

Qualifications requirements:
1. Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Barrister-at-Law (BL); must be called to the Nigerian Bar.
2. Minimum of 3 years’ post-call experience, preferably in criminal law, human rights law, or legal aid work.
3. Demonstrated experience working with survivors of SGBV or other vulnerable groups is a strong advantage.
4. Strong understanding of Nigerian legal and criminal justice systems, especially as they relate to gender justice.
5. Knowledge of English and Hausa
6. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
