The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued an official announcement informing candidates who registered for the 2024/2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) that new admission opportunities are now available. According to JAMB, several universities were established after the 2024 registration exercise, and these institutions are ready to admit interested candidates.
In a public notice signed by the Registrar, Prof. Is-haq O. Oloyede, the board said: “Candidates who are seeking admission for the 2024/2025 academic session and who registered with JAMB for the 2024/2025 session should note that there are some universities established after the 2024 registration that will be willing to offer admission.”
These institutions are also expected to accept applications for the 2025/2026 academic year. JAMB advises interested candidates to visit any accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centre to make use of the Change of Institution service.
The newly established universities include the Kwara State University of Education, Ilorin, the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi, and Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo.
At Kwara State University of Education, Ilorin, programmes available include Business Education, Entrepreneurship, Educational Management, Guidance and Counselling, Sustainable Development, Education and Accounting, Education and Computer Science, among others. High-demand courses like Educational Technology and Electrical/Electronics Education are also on the list.
The Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi, Adamawa State offers agriculture-focused programmes including Crop Science, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Food Science and Technology, and Nutrition and Dietetics. It also provides core science courses such as Computer Science, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics, and Chemistry.
Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo State provides programme options including Education and Music, Education and Islamic Studies, Social Studies and Civic Education, Special Needs Education, Counselling Psychology, and Adult and Continuing Education.
JAMB strongly emphasizes: “Any eligible candidate willing to seek admission in the listed universities is advised to apply for a change of institution as his/her first choice.”
The universities have also been encouraged to publicize the available opportunities and guide candidates on the necessary steps.
The board also warned: “None of the universities is allowed to admit any person or student who did not apply to JAMB for the 2024/2025 admission session. No regularization or condonement of illegal admission will be allowed.”
