The Katsina Local Government Council has officially launched a fully-funded scholarship program for its indigenous residents. This new initiative will enable young people from Katsina Local Government Area to access quality education and practical skills at the renowned Katsina State Institute of Technology and Management (KSITM).
The scholarship, announced on June 23, 2025, will cover all tuition and additional fees for eligible students pursuing National Diploma (ND) and National Innovation Diploma (NID) programmes at KSITM. The institution is known for promoting innovation, technology, and management training that helps boost employability and entrepreneurship.
According to Hon. Isah Miqdad AD Saude, Chairman of the Katsina Local Government, this initiative is part of the council’s commitment to building a knowledgeable and self-reliant generation. “We believe that investing in the education and skills of our young people is the most effective way to drive sustainable development and reduce unemployment,” he said.
The available courses under this scholarship include ND Accountancy, ND Computer Engineering Technology, ND Computer Science, ND Electrical/Electronic Engineering, ND Library and Information Science, as well as NID Banking Operations, NID Business Informatics, NID Computer Hardware Engineering, NID Computer Software Engineering, NID Islamic Banking and Finance, NID Multimedia Technology, NID Networking and System Security, and NID Security Management Technology.
Who Can Apply?
To qualify, applicants must be indigenous residents of Katsina Local Government and must have scored a minimum of 120 marks in the JAMB examination, making this a fair but competitive opportunity.
The deadline for submission is 12:00 midnight on July 25, 2025.
