In celebration of the annual Kayokayo Cultural Festival in Epe Division, the Lagos State Government has introduced a fresh fish sales and free doorstep delivery initiative targeting residents of Ajah, Lekki, and Victoria Island.
The programme, launched under the Lagos Cultural Mission of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, was announced on Wednesday by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Idris Aregbe, during a media briefing at his Alausa office in Ikeja.
“This is a unique initiative aimed at promoting local commerce, showcasing indigenous resources, and strengthening the connection between culture and commerce,” Aregbe said.
He explained that the fish would be sourced directly from the popular Epe Fish Market and delivered to residents free of charge on Friday, July 25, 2025.
According to Aregbe, fish lovers will be able to order a wide variety of fresh options, including:
i. Wesafo Fish
ii. Tilapia
iii. White Catfish

vi. Red Snapper

He added, “This initiative speaks to our commitment to celebrate cultural identity, empower local economies, and engage residents through innovative, community-centered approaches.”
The Kayokayo Festival, which spans a full week, remains a key cultural event in Epe. Activities lined up include traditional processions, local food exhibitions, music and dance performances, and other interactive events that showcase the cultural wealth of the area.
