The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) is inviting employers to participate in an upcoming job fair, focused on connecting trained, job-ready youth in Lagos Island Constituency II with meaningful employment and internship opportunities.
According to the LSETF, the initiative is targeted at employers who are actively hiring entry-level staff and facing difficulties finding suitable candidates. “Dear Employers, We understand the struggle.” the LSETF noted in its official announcement.
The agency emphasized the need for reliable and prepared workers and outlined challenges many companies face:
i. Show up late because “Lagos traffic” (but their Whatsapp was “online” 1hr ago)
ii. Ask for “transport money” after 2 days of work
iii. Ghost you after training them from scratch
To address these concerns, the LSETF has trained youth who are committed and employable. The statement added that these candidates:
i. ✅ Show up on time
ii. ✅ Have REAL skills and are willing to learn
iii. ✅ Want to WORK, not just collect salary
Employers from all industries, including tech, finance, fashion, and construction, are encouraged to join. LSETF said, “FREE Job Fair access ➔ Meet vetted candidates face-to-face. ALL sectors needed ➔ From tech to tailoring, we got you.”
The event offers a platform to access skilled talent, increase brand visibility, and strengthen organizational workforce capacity. It’s also free to attend.
LSETF is seeking opportunities such as full-time employment and internships, and it is open to businesses across all sectors.
Interested employers are urged to indicate their interest in attending the job fair scheduled for Wednesday, July 30th, 2025. Employers will be contacted after registration.
