The University of Calabar, located in Calabar, Cross River State, has announced recruitment openings for academic staff across various faculties. According to the Registrar, Dr. (Mrs) Chukwuka I. Icha, the institution, which began academic activities in 1975, remains committed to advancing learning and promoting quality education.
She stated that the university is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill positions ranging from Professor to Assistant Lecturer in different departments.
The Registrar noted, āThe University of Calabar seeks to encourage the advancement of learning by promoting courses of instruction and providing the necessary facilities for knowledge across all branches.ā

Professor (CONUASS 7)
a. Candidates must possess a Ph.D degree or equivalent Professional Fellowship in the relevant discipline (FWACS, FMCS, FMCOG and their equivalent from a recognized University.
b. Other requirements as stated in the University of Calabar Conditions of Service.
Reader (CONUASS 6)
a. Candidates for the post should have had three yearsā experience as Senior Lecturer in a recognized University or Institutions of similar status.
b. A Ph.D degree or equivalent Professional Fellowship in the relevant discipline from a recognized University.
c. Other requirements as stated in the University of Calabar Conditions of Service.
Senior Lecturer (CONUASS 5)
a. Candidates must have served for three years as Lecturer I or equivalent in a recognized University or Institution of similar status.
b. Candidates must possess a Ph.D degree or equivalent Professional Fellowship in the relevant discipline.
c. Other requirements as stated in the University of Calabar Conditions of Service.
Lecturer I (CONUASS 4)
a. Candidates should possess a Ph.D degree or equivalent and have served for three years as Lecturer II in the University or a similar institution.
b. Other requirements as stated in the University of Calabar Conditions of Service.
Lecturer II (CONUASS 3)
a. Candidates should possess a Ph.D degree or equivalent plus a minimum of four years post-qualification teaching experience as Assistant Lecturer in a recognized University or Institution of similar status.

Assistant Lecturer (CONUASS 2)
a. Candidates should possess a minimum Masterās degree with course work and thesis in their area of specialization.
