The Bauchi State Ministry of Education has announced the commencement of registration for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination and Basic Arabic and Islamic Certificate Examination for public and private junior secondary schools.
According to a notice issued by the ministry’s Examination Directorate, the registration exercise began on March 25, 2026, and will close on April 30, 2026.
The ministry stated that the registration fee for each candidate in public schools is N2,000, while candidates in private schools are to pay N3,000.
It directed that all payments must be made through a designated account with Zenith Bank, under the name Examination Directorate, warning against partial payments.
“All candidates’ payments should be made at once, as bits and part payments may lead to omission of candidates during indexing,” the notice read.
On submission procedures, the ministry instructed school principals to forward completed registration forms alongside evidence of payment through designated Local Government Area collection officers.
It stressed that submissions must be made in bulk through the assigned officers, noting that individual or incomplete submissions would not be accepted.
The ministry also released a list of officers responsible for coordinating the exercise across LGAs.
Jacob Temitope will oversee all private schools in the state.
Hamidu Garba has been assigned to Bauchi, Toro, Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro LGAs, as well as all special schools and BAICE coordination.
Abdulsalam Yawale will handle Alkaleri, Kirfi and Ningi LGAs, while Auwal M. Idris will supervise Dass, Shira, Gamawa and Misau LGAs.
Mustapha Audi is in charge of Dambam, Darazo, Ganjuwa and Warji LGAs, while Nasiru B. Yakubu will coordinate activities in Katagum, Itas Gadau, Giade, Zaki and Jama’are LGAs.
The ministry urged schools to comply strictly with the guidelines to ensure a smooth and error-free registration process.
