The Bauchi State Government is set to launch a comprehensive Digital Literacy and Skills Framework aimed at promoting inclusive digital competence for sustainable development.

This initiative, titled DL4ALL (Digital Literacy for All), is a collaborative effort between the Bauchi State Bureau for ICT and Digital Economy (BICTDE) and the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).

According to the State Bureau, the framework is aligned with the vision of His Excellency to empower citizens with skills needed to succeed in the rapidly expanding digital economy.

“We are working to replicate the DL4ALL model in Bauchi State to make sure no one is left behind in the global shift towards digital transformation,” BICTDE stated.

The program will be implemented with a focus on both the formal and informal workforce, integrating digital education into school systems, and offering advanced digital training to youths across the state.

The core goal is to adapt the national digital literacy initiative in Bauchi State to empower the informal and formal workforce, integrate digital education in schools, and equip youths with advanced digital skills for local and global opportunities.

The specific objectives of the DL4ALL framework are:

1. Train at least 100,000 residents of Bauchi State in basic digital literacy by 2027.
2. Implement tailored digital literacy programs for the informal sector, formal sector workforce, and education sector.
3. Equip 2000 selected youths with advanced digital skills (e.g., software development, graphics design, data analytics, digital marketing).
4. Establish a network of active digital hubs and training centers across the state.
5. Promote inclusion, especially for women, persons with disabilities, and rural populations.

This initiative is expected to strengthen innovation, create employment, and position Bauchi as a digitally competitive state in Nigeria’s evolving technology landscape.
