The Borno State Arabic and Sangaya Education Board (BOSASEB) has announced the commencement of screening and registration for eligible candidates into the Huffaz Certification Programme (HCP) for the 2026/2027 academic session.
In a statement dated March 24, 2026, the board disclosed that the exercise will be conducted in collaboration with the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) for candidates seeking the Senior Arabic and Islamic Secondary School Certificate Examination (SAISSCE).
According to the notice, the screening is scheduled to hold on Monday, March 30, and Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Babagana Wakil Integrated Higher Islamic School, Maiduguri, between 9:00 am and 12:30 pm.
The board directed proprietors of Sangaya Centres and Tahfizul Qur’anic schools to present qualified candidates for the exercise.
BOSASEB outlined that applicants must be graduates of registered Sangaya or Tahfeez schools and must present a duly signed nomination letter from their school proprietors or founders.
It added that candidates must be at least 20 years old, be indigenes of Borno Central or Northern zones, and must not possess any formal secondary or higher education certificate, warning that defaulters would be disqualified.
The board emphasised strict compliance with the requirements, stating that only qualified candidates would be considered for the programme.
It further noted that details for candidates from Southern Borno would be announced at a later date.
