Benue State University of Agriculture, Science and Technology (BSUAST), Ihugh, has issued a disclaimer concerning a widely circulated publication titled: “BSUAST Commences First Year (2025/2026 Academic Session) with the Following Programmes.”

Recall that BSUAST was recently approved by the NUC.

According to the institution, the publication did not come from the official authorities of the University and should not be taken as a valid list of approved academic programmes. A statement released by the Management on July 12, 2025, reads: “While we appreciate the public interest and enthusiasm concerning the take-off of UAST Ihugh, the Management wishes to categorically state that the said publication did not originate from the official authorities of the University and does not represent an approved or final list of programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.”

The statement further clarified that the process of finalizing academic programmes is still ongoing and under the supervision of the National Universities Commission (NUC) and other relevant regulatory bodies.

“Only after due approval by the relevant authorities shall the University release an official statement listing approved programmes and other academic activities,” it added.

UAST Ihugh urged the general public, prospective students, and stakeholders to ignore the publication and rely only on official updates through authorized channels.

The university also restated its commitment to delivering quality education in agriculture, science, and technology to meet global standards.
