C’ River youth speaker backs first lady’s smokeless cook stove initiative

The Speaker of the Cross River State Youth Parliament, Hon. Ugeh Comfort Mona, was present at the flag-off ceremony for the distribution of Smokeless Cook Stoves and Wonder Cooking Pots. The initiative was introduced by Her Excellency, Bishop Eyoanwan Otu, Wife of the Governor of Cross River State, in collaboration with the Cross River State Council for Climate Change and Green Economy.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Ugeh Comfort Mona praised the First Lady for her visionary approach to improving household welfare. She stated, “This initiative is a clear demonstration of purposeful leadership and compassion. It will not only ease the burden of cooking for many families but also promote healthier and safer living conditions.”

The program aims to address domestic challenges faced by women while also contributing to environmental sustainability through cleaner energy solutions. Hon. Comfort emphasized that the effort reflects true commitment to humanitarian service.
