The Internal Auditor will report directly to the Senior Internal Audit Manager and will work under the framework of CAF’s internal audit methodology. Key duties include conducting substantive testing, performing control tests, and analyzing documentation as part of scheduled audit engagements.

CAF explained, ā€œThe selected candidate will be expected to complete assigned audit programs delegated by the Senior Internal Audit Manager, in accordance with the approved audit plan.ā€

As part of the job, the Internal Auditor will prepare working papers, conduct walkthroughs, maintain audit evidence, and assist in drafting audit reports. These reports will highlight critical findings and offer recommendations to strengthen operations within CAF. In addition, the role includes following up on agreed management action plans and presenting the results for validation.

The Internal Auditor will also support the organization’s risk assessments, update the audit universe, and help build tools and templates that align with global best practices. As CAF continues to grow, the auditor’s input will be essential in identifying control weaknesses and recommending areas for improvement.

CAF noted, ā€œThe successful candidate must contribute to the continuous improvement of audit processes and procedures to ensure relevance, efficiency, and alignment with CAF’s objectives.ā€

The position involves more than just audits. The Internal Auditor will help promote a culture of ethics and internal control awareness. Responsibilities also include offering advice and training to CAF staff on control procedures, keeping up with international standards in risk management, and helping develop and adjust internal systems when necessary.

Moreover, the selected candidate will be expected to protect CAF’s property and assets, perform other tasks as assigned by the Senior Internal Audit Manager, and maintain open communication with staff across departments.

Qualifications and Professional Requirements

CAF is seeking applicants with at least three years of experience in internal auditing or related fields. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field is required. Preference will be given to candidates pursuing or holding certifications such as CIA, ACCA, or CPA.

The job requires a strong grasp of financial regulations, as well as excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills. Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Office and modern IT platforms is necessary. Applicants must also demonstrate professional judgment and maintain confidentiality when conducting audits.

The organization added, ā€œNative fluency in spoken and written French is mandatory. Proficiency in English is required. Fluency in Arabic is a plus.ā€

A passion for African football and a good understanding of CAF’s values are preferred, but not essential.

CAF promises an engaging and diverse working environment. The organization offers attractive employment conditions, high-quality social security coverage, and an excellent pension scheme. The role is part of an international team committed to promoting excellence in African football administration.

ā€œThis is an exciting and innovative international organization,ā€ CAF stated. ā€œThe opportunity to be part of a highly committed international team awaits.ā€

CAF is committed to equal opportunity employment. Qualified applicants of all genders, ages, races, nationalities, and backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
