The Africa Deep Tech Challenge 2025 (ADTC) has officially kicked off, offering young African tech minds a chance to make a real impact. Organisers say the goal is simple, “Build what Africa truly needs and win big.”
The competition targets practical, high-impact tech innovations designed for tough environments, especially where power, infrastructure, and connectivity are unreliable. According to 3MTT, “We’re on the hunt for game-changing innovations that thrive where power is scarce, infrastructure is limited, and connectivity can’t be trusted.”
Winners will walk away with $20,000 in cash grants, cloud credits, Raspberry Pi kits, mentorship, and global exposure. The challenge invites solutions in low-power hardware, edge computing, offline digital tools, solar off-grid systems, and power-as-a-service.
The organisers confirmed that eligibility is open to individuals or teams of up to four members. All participants must be aged 18 or older and reside in any of the listed African countries. No startup experience or prior funding is required.
All submissions must be original, though open-source tools can be used if clearly cited.
The deadline for entries is July 31, 2025. Interested participants can apply now via https://adtc-2025.devpost.com.
